The Manner of execution of Subsidy programmes, including the amounts allocated and the details
of beneficiaries
of such programmes:
Custom made Aids and Appliances
fabricated in the Institute, are `provided
to the patients at a reasonable cost. These appliances include
both upper and lower extremity
orthotic and prosthetic devices, spinal orthoses, modified footwear, plastic
orthoses / splints, self help devices for upper extremity amputations,
etc.
The
Institute also implements the ADIP Scheme of ALIMCO of the Ministry of Social
Justice and Empowerment.
Aids and Appliances include all types of Prosthetic and
Orthotic devices, mobility aids like tricycles, wheelchairs, crutches, walking
sticks, surgical
footwear etc
For motorized tricycles, aid upto
Rs 6000/- is permitted by the Ministry of SJ & E in exceptional cases and the
remaining cost is to be borne by the patient.
The
Eligibility criteria as per the Scheme is as follows:
1. He/ She
should be an Indian citizen of any age.
2. Should
be certified by a Registered Medical Practitioner that he/ she is disabled and
fit to use prescribed aid/ appliance.
3. Person
who is employed / self employed or getting pension and whose monthly income from
all sources does not exceed Rs 10,000/- per month. (Certificate from the
concerned Competent Authority).
4. In Case
of dependants, the income of parents/guardians should not exceed Rs 10,000/- per
month. (Certificate from the concerned
Competent
Authority).
5. Persons
who have not received assistance from the Govt., local bodies and Non official
organizations during the last 3 years for the same purpose. However, for
children below 12 years of age this limit would be 1
year.
